Everguard, with SeAH Steel
- Challenge
- SeAH Steel wanted new ventures that made heavy industry safer for workers.
- Approach
- Value-chain field research in the US and Asia, a futures workshop, then concept development ending in a live demo.
- Result
- Five concepts went to the pitch, and mine was picked and funded. Everguard is still operating today.
VENTURE STRATEGY · WITH UPLABS
Caterpillar 2030 venture roadmap
- Challenge
- Caterpillar had a 2030 vision and wanted to find where new ventures could get there faster.
- Approach
- Three sessions with 20 executives: scope problem spaces, prioritize them, then backcast to a roadmap.
- Result
- Leadership aligned on priorities, a North Star, and the first steps to get there.
INNOVATION SYSTEM · WHILE AT FORTIVE
ServiceChannel's innovation model
- Challenge
- Plenty of good ideas, and a need for a dependable way to choose, test, and move them forward.
- Approach
- Stood up an innovation department with a four-layer model: governance, methods, strategy, and operations.
- Result
- An innovation system from the C-suite to working teams and 10 discovery projects. Later used to advise XOi.
